about us
We are a small, family business located right in the heart of the beautiful Kohala Coast. Debbie started the vacation rental division of her real estate company 15 years ago, when two of her real estate clients insisted she be the manager of their new oceanfront beach house. Since that time, we have acquired about 30 vacation homes and condos and offer charming, island style properties from $95 per night to $1000 per night. We are family owned and operated and this is our ohana.
AlohaDebbie, Deborah D. Sharp (R) is the Principal Broker with over 28 years of real estate and property management experience. She is well known and respected throughout the Big Island as a real estate lady with a high degree of integrity and aloha spirit. She raised five children on the Big Island, working with a "baby on her hip" in the early years. Debbie supervises all phases of the business, assists with reservations and accounting. She consults with Leilani on situations that need attention, every day. She spends part of her time in Alaska with her husband,a native Athabascan, and her six step children and six step grandchildren. She loves paddling her kayak, swimming and snorkeling. She also leads spiritual retreats and is a meditation teacher....in her spare time!
Leilani Shackelford (RA) is Debbie’s daughter and she grew up in the office, learning all phases of the property management business. She is a licensed real estate agent and the Office Administrator., as well as, a mother of two, who also worked with a baby on her hip (the youngest is now in preschool). She handles all of the day to day operations: repairs, owner communications, property showings, check ins, public relations, reservations and guest needs. Leilani is the person on call every day for any emergency. She is the ultimate concierge. The guests all adore her and her boys, Kawai (7 years) and Ko’iawe (4 years), who have been escorting her to welcome the guests since they were infants! Leilani loves helping out at the Hawaiian Immersion schools where her boys attend. She speaks Hawaiian (and so do the boys) and plays the ukelele. She loves to surf and watch the sunset at Paniau (the end of Puako Beach Drive)
Marla Kane, is our reservation agent. She works at the reservation desk every day, answering inquiries by phone and email. She prepares and sends reservations and confirmations and receipts for rents received. She is the friendly voice that answers the phone and our true Hawaiian with the aloha spirit. She can tell our guests about all the great sights to see and things to do because she was born and raised right here on the Big Island!
